Agency processing times and disclosure decisions are outside Infosourceful’s control. The service fee covers the agreed work, whether records are released, withheld, unavailable, or remain pending.
Public Records Research & Acquisition — From $1,750
For clients who need help identifying which records may be relevant, determining where to obtain them, and coordinating their acquisition.
Projects may include government-source research, identification of appropriate agencies and custodians, public database searches, multi-agency requests, historical records research, document acquisition, and a structured report of findings and limitations.
Research organizations, consultancies, and professional firms may also submit lists of defined records requests or broader research assignments for scoped pricing.
Government processing, copying, and other external fees require advance approval. Additional agencies, expanded research, substantive appeals, or extended request management are separately scoped when appropriate.

Project pricing may vary based on:

- the number of claims or issues that need to be examined
- the depth of verification required
- the number and type of relevant source environments
- whether historical or archived information is needed
- whether timelines, relationships, or conflicting evidence need to be reconstructed
- source and record availability
- the requested turnaround
- paid records, databases, or document retrieval
- travel or in-person records research when appropriate
Your proposal identifies anticipated paid records, database access, document retrieval, or specialist expenses and explains whether they are included in the fixed fee or separately itemized. These expenses require advance written approval.
Fixed pricing, clear scope
Before research begins, you’ll receive a written scope and fixed project price.
The scope will describe what is being researched, the expected deliverable, important boundaries or exclusions, and the expected turnaround.
If the research reveals a material need to expand the inquiry or incur an unexpected external cost, we’ll discuss it with you before proceeding.
You won’t receive surprise hourly charges or unexpected add-ons after the work is underway.

More extensive engagements may involve multiple research questions, substantial evidence review, coordination with multiple sources, reconstruction of events or relationships, or work conducted over several stages.
These projects may use a deposit or milestone payment structure when appropriate.
Any payment arrangement, deliverables, and acceptance conditions will be explained and agreed in writing before the project begins.
